Activate your Finnish and join our online course for false beginners!

Do you feel it’s time you put your skills to use? Have you forgotten your Finnish skills? Have you done a Finnish 1 course but need some reactivation before taking Finnish 2? You know already at least greetings, introducing yourself, numbers, days of the week and some other basic vocabulary (like frequently used verbs, food, places) and have an idea of some grammar topics – it just needs to be reactivated! This course is for you. Let’s activate your skills in our active and fun course! You will get to do various conversational exercises, listening comprehension as well as reading and writing. Many vocabulary exercises will be done and review of the basic grammar. All this in interaction with the other students!

After completing the False beginners course, you can continue your studies on Puhutaan suomea! 2 course (starting level A1.2).

Finnish for false beginners

  • You will start the course by introducing yourself.
  • You will discuss different housing types and living environment in Finland.
  • You will take a look at the typical everyday routine in Finland and discuss your own daily schedule.
  • Grammar topics covered include interrogatives; present tense; verb types; locational cases (Missä? Mistä? Mihin?); consonant gradation; some verb rections (käydä + missä?, mennä + mihin); necessive clause (minun täytyy); some pre- and postpositions; to have construction (Minulla on auto. Minulla ei ole autoa); numerals and telling time


Course time: 8.6.-1.7.201, on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Course dates: 8.6., 10.6., 15.6., 17.6., 22.6., 24.6., 29.6. and 1.7.2021 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16:30-19:00 (3 x 45 min, 15 min break) 

Course consists of 24 hours of contact lessons online and 24 hours of independent study including all study material.
Course price:  199 € (incl. VAT 24%)

Place: The course is held completely online. The teacher will contact the participants by email prior to the beginning of the course, so please make sure to give your valid email address when you register. To participate you need a computer with an internet connection, a camera and a headset, and basic computer skills. 

NB. English is used as an auxiliary language of the course.
